236 Carlton Avenue The brownstone townhouse is located in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. The Victorian rowhouse, with Eastlake detailing, dates to the 1860’s. The scope of work for the project included brownstone restoration including incised detailing, wood cornice and front door restoration and extensive ironwork restoration. The two large scale balustrade end posts and two fence posts were recreated based on existing documentation. The project was funded in part through the New York Landmarks Conservancy’s Home Owner Loan Fund Program. The house is a contributing component to the Fort Greene Historic District. |
